Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. TheysupportProduct Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They alsodesign, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems,supportsupply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time andadhereto all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

Role Objective

  • Qualified Tool Designer-with requisite CAD, Design, Drafting Skillsets, specialized in Assembly Automation & Stamping Die Design.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering drawings, preparation of assembly automation layouts, concept for Jigs and Fixtures /Gauges/ Dies.

• Preparation of production drawings for Parts Subassemblies and Main Assemblies, Bills of materials for Sub-Assemblies and Main Assemblies (Creo 7 & ZWCAD).

• Responsible for communicating time estimation and target dates for task with customer.

• Interaction with CFT for reviews, trials, evaluation of component / tooling elements.

• Preparation of Documents / Presentation for Automation line.

• Maintain Quality of Design/Drafting.

• Knowledge of PDMLink Windchill.

• Perform Engineering calculations as related to Tool design.

Education and Knowdledge

• BE / B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

• Post Diploma in Tool design (NTTF /GTTC/CITD)

• Knowledge on

• Tool material, material Application, Heat treatment and its processes.

• Applications of Limits and Fits.

• Line automation, Stamping tool.

• Tool machining, Tool assembly, Measurement, and Tool room processes.

• PTC Creo, AutoCAD/ZWCAD.

• Industrial Standard Automation components.

Critical Experience

• 2 to 4 years of experience in various engineering field related to SPM/Connector Automation/Pneumatics and Equipment design, Product and process development.

• Good knowledge/Applications on GD&T ASME Y14.5-2009.

• Working knowledge on MS Office tool. (MS Excel, Word & Power point).

• Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills including Presentations.
