Sr. Engineering Manager - Systems & SW

Philips CT/AMI R&D in Pune has clear ownership and responsibilities in multiple CT & AMI product segments. CT/AMI India Product Engineering group is responsible for CT/AMI products life cycle management and post market support for a diverse range of niche and complex medical devices.

Software & Systems Engineering Manager provides leadership on technological competence for a mature Software and Systems engineering team for CT/AMI at Pune comprising of about 18 members.

Your role:

  • Develop competency of system engineering for large complex CT & AMI systems.

  • Audit support for CT/AMI Pune owned product for various regulatory agencies (FDA/CE/etc)

  • Applies Philips Excellence practices to identify and solve major product quality issues.

  • Customer satisfaction by providing faster engineering resolution to the issues faced by customer.

  • Owns post market KPIs (Complaint/CAPA/Defects)

  • Collaborates with Global system engineering groups in CT/AMI and adopt good practices.

  • Develop strategy for knowledge build up for execute strategy to transition Pune as CoE for Life cycle management products.

  • Lead team of System & System software engineers

  • Owns the program deliverables and collaborates with project managers to deliver.

  • Lead teams, fostering collaboration to deliver tasks.

  • Builds productive internal/external working relationships

  • Strategic thinking from systems perspective to convert from reactive approach to proactive and strategic LCM organization

  • Innovate on cost reduction, call rate reduction, customer NPS

  • Innovate on creating new revenue streams together with marketing

  • Manage team of highly experienced (10+ years) software engineers.

  • Develop software competency for all AMI products.

  • Deliver upgrade solutions as per roadmap to deliver on customer life time value.

  • Deliver on obsolescence management of computers/controllers.

  • Own and manage firmware deliveries and competencies.

  • Co-ordinate and resolve customer escalations.

  • Manage product ownership / software subsystem transfers as applicable.

  • Recruit, hire, and retain talent with the necessary skills to support projects.

  • Conduct performance reviews and on-going coaching and mentoring.

You're the right fit if:

  • B.E./B.Tech. or higher with>15 years in leading medical devices / products development / maintenance., including>6 years Systems/ Software engineering.

  • Manage relationships with global stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations. Effectively coordinate and allocate resources to meet stakeholder needs and project objectives.

  • Excellent communication skills and handling of stakeholders.

  • Strong technical background in R&D engineering disciplines (e.g. Electronics, Software, Mechatronics).

  • Experience in Medical Device lifecycle management preferred.

  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable medical device development standards preferred.

  • Experience in managing high performance teams as a people leader – preferred.

  • Excellent integral (cross functional) stakeholder/perception management skills.

  • Good multidisciplinary (R&D) stakeholder/perception management skills.

  • Strong leadership competencies.

  • Good people management skills.
