The team you will be a part of
The Software Engineering team designs, develops or coordinates development/troubleshooting or debugging of moderately complex software programs for enhancements and new products. Performs high-level design/modeling to convert stakeholder needs into software solutions. Develops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design. Develops the architectural guidelines, specifications, and technical standards and communicates to stakeholders.
This role in summary
The RTOS leader will play a key role in the development of embedded software platform(s) that will drive innovation for Whirlpool Smart Appliances across the full range of products developed by Whirlpool. These software platforms range from running RTOS at the low-end to running Embedded Android at the high-end. These software platforms provide IoT/connectivity features, middleware to control the appliance, a framework for running machine learning models, and a user-interface framework to allow the development of product-specific user-interfaces.
Your responsibilities will include
Educational Qualifications- B.Tech-MTech/ Master Degree on Electrical / Electronic Engineering/ Computer Engineering/ Mechatronics etc.
Experience Required- 9 to15 years
Skills-
Expert in C programming
Expert knowledge of bootloader, hardware interfaces, and driver development or OS Services development for Embedded Linux or RTOS
Experience in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth driver development
Job Details-
9+ years of experience in embedded software development
2+ years of experience technically leading a team or function in Embedded Software development (preferably OS)
Be a technical lead for a team that is responsible for designing and developing software platforms using RTOS environments to support rapid innovation and product development as part of a bigger Global team
Take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining significant software components at system software or middleware layers as well as guiding the team on those tasks
Work with Global partners as a local team leader to develop and deliver RTOS for Embedded Linux BSP including board bring-up, hardware debugging, and optimizing low-level OS features
Stay abreast of the latest developments in RTOS/Linux and guide the teams on how the developments impact our software development and roadmaps
Provide technical leadership and direction for team members
Investigate and apply emerging technologies and new design approaches
