About this Position

Responsible for managing commercial borrower/depositor relationships including new loan requests, cash management/deposit services, development of new business, and management/oversight of assigned small business loan portfolio. Works across business lines to help drive sales in all areas of the company. The Business Banking Relationship Manager will position our financial services expertise in the communities we serve. Adheres to Loan Policy and works to achieve assigned goals and objectives to support Company strategic plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify prospective customers and implement plan for gaining business through business development calls, networking and response to referrals. Continuously develop growing network of referral sources for new business.

Build/expand existing customer relationships by identifying needs and recommending solutions while effectively handling loan requests.

Analyze financial information, negotiate terms and conditions such as rates, collateral, guarantees and loan agreements; secures loan documentation and recommends loan approval.

Manage small business loan portfolio including collection and review of financial information to ensure Company’s interests are protected. Adhere to Loan Policy, department procedures and applicable Federal/State/Local laws and regulations.

Formulate and implement strategies to achieve individual and department goals. Work with colleagues and designated branch teams to provide guidance and support to reach goals as appropriate.

Collaborate with other strategic partners within the Company to provide a full range of products and services, as appropriate for customers and prospects.

Participate actively in community service organizations and networking events to source business development opportunities and demonstrate our Company’s commitment.

Understand and stay current on products, technology and systems to recognize opportunities and competitor gaps.

Education/Certifications/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience in business, finance, lending or related field required.

5+ years of experience in small business lending, loan portfolio management or banking and/or sales experience required

Skills/Knowledge:

Solid organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Demonstrated consultative sales and negotiation skills, ability to identify needs, present effective solutions and close a sale

Solid communication skills, both written and verbal; comfortable communicating with customers, coworkers and management

Proven networking and relationship building skills

Knowledge of credit analysis and banking products/services

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 annually commensurate with experience and education.

Additional compensation may be earned through the Company’s incentive programs, subject to individual performance.
