The Impact You Can Make * The Registered Nurse is accountable for management and delivery of patient care to assigned patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and within the scope of practice delineated in the New York State Nurse Practice Act. Provides direct patient care, delegates/assigns responsibility as appropriate to others, and serves as leader of the interdisciplinary team in collaboration with and under the direction of the attending physician. Focuses on completion of the nursing process including patient/family education and discharge planning. Education/Accredited Programs * Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred; new hires will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of hire.Exceptions may be made for Associate's Degree RNs with greater than 20 years of experience and national certification in specialty areas. /Does not pertain to existing GFH RNs./ * Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing Program. * One year nursing experience required. * Maintains competency in professional nursing practices. * Assumes responsibility for own self-development and for keeping current with advances in nursing knowledge and techniques. * Assumes responsibility for maintaining current knowledge related to the age and development of the patient population in areas in which they work. * *Licenses/Certifications/Registrations * BLScertification required before completion of orientation in all areas of practice & maintained throughout employment * ACLScertification required before completion of orientation in Urgent Care and maintained throughout employment * PALScertification required before completion of orientation in urgent care and maintained throughout employment * License to practice nursing in NY State without restrictions * *Skills/Abilities: * Ability to assume leadership role in nursing practice. * Ability to organize work, to delegate effectively, and to direct and oversee the work of practical nurses, nursing aides, and unit secretaries. * Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing with other nursing personnel, patients, and physicians. * Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations. * *Communities We Serve Located in the foothills of the beautiful Adirondack mountains, Glens Falls is conveniently located a short drive away from the capital region and Lake George. Salary Range The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $25.07 to $48.06 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
