Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

What your background should look like:

Core Responsibilities:

1) Optimize the use of systems and tools to support day to day business operations.

a. Support the Master Production Scheduling activities to ensure a balanced load

b. Monitor/review/update daily standard work to ensure responsibilities are being completed.

c. Monitor SAP Exception codes to ensure planning is utilizing the plant’s capacity effectively.

d. Facilitate weekly load meetings with materials planning, value stream leaders and plant supervisors to ensure proper capacity is available to meet production needs by reviewing any potential overloads or bottlenecks.

e. Facilitate monthly capacity meetings to review and identify potential gaps in capacity requirements for future 3-12 months and provide action plans to resolve.

f. Work closely with peers in other regional assignments to ensure smooth flow of products to support local business needs.

2) Delivery Performance Improvement

a. Review daily customer backlog reports and provide guidance to planning and manufacturing.

b. Review, analyze and identify corrective actions for prior day missed shipments

3) Inventory Management

a. Support inventory strategies to meet our global inventory turns goals

b. Implement processes to ensure we are following the proper lot sizing and sourcing

policies which support our inventory goals

4) Employee Involvement, Development and Recognition

a. Conduct daily team meetings to discuss any issues or concerns related to daily production needs

b. Work with materials manager to establish department goals and performance metrics.

c. Enable employees to learn and grow in their assignments

Qualifications

• Comprehensive supply chain planning experience (Capacity planning, supply planning, master production scheduling, inventory control)

• General knowledge of ERP/MRP systems

• Proficiency with all MS Office Programs

• Committed, entrepreneurial, proactive working attitude (driver for change)

• Strong analytical, detailed oriented, financial, and strategic thinking skills.

• Culturally sensitive in operational working environment. Must be able to effectively interact with all levels of staff.

• Managing and Measuring Work: Clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions; sets clear objectives and measures; monitors process, progress, and results; designs feedback loops into work.

• APICS CPIM and SIOP Certification is a plus.

• 3-5 years with Purchasing and Master Scheduling Processes

• Lean Manufacturing (Scheduling techniques, pull, flow) is a plus.
