This position is for a Product Design Engineer working on

designing mechanical components for custom Automotive Equipment. This is an

entry level position for a candidate ideally with a Mechanical Engineering

degree. Top candidates will have a strong interest in automotive industry and

will ideally have hands on experience on automotive projects along with 3D

design experience from school or internship. This position will have the

opportunity to have significant ownership of designs and will be able to work

through the full lifecycle of parts they've designed including the

manufacturing and troubleshooting of the parts. Open to Spring 2024 graduating

class.

Job Description

Product Designer:

· Responsible for providing

accurate and timely product designs using SolidWorks 3D software.

· Designing based on customer specifications and/or custom quotes coming in from the field.

· Responsible for designing new products as well as continuous design improvements of existing equipment.

· Responsible for designing with cost in mind and also serve as a liaison between fab and assembly by resolving any issues that surface.

Position Overview:

Provide accurate and timely product designs using customer specifications and/or custom quote. Design new products and improve existing products accurately and cost effectively. Serve as a liaison to the fabrication and assembly departments, reviewing upcoming custom orders. Resolve any problems and/or questions incurred due to design error or misinterpretation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Product design consisting of detailing drawings, layout and design, bill of material generation, specification and quote reviews.

· Interface with Quotation Services as a resource for specification interpretation.

· Interface with factory personnel for design and pre-build reviews and post-build inspections.

· Attend customer specification reviews.

· Sales engineering drawings for customer approval.

· Provide plant support for engineering related opportunities.

Position Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering degree

· 3D Drafting and design experience.

· Must be familiar with AutoCAD, Solid Works and personal computers.

· Verbal and written communication ability are essential along with the capacity to interact with all levels of any organization.

· Must have good analytical and decision making skills and be able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
