This role in summary

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Analyst, Material Management. This role is located in Racine, WI.

The role is responsible for ensuring continuity of supply of materials to support our manufacturing schedule. Place purchase orders and manage pull replenishment parameters to maintain supply in accordance with company inventory objectives. Organize and schedule customer deliveries, track inbound shipments, and manage changes to existing purchase/manufacturing orders to meet scheduled timelines. Maintain strong working relationships and effective communication with internal and external suppliers for a quick resolution to supply-related issues. Microsoft Office applications, Oracle, and Oracle e-Kanban software are the primary tools in this environment.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Develop and maintain supply schedule by using (Material Requirements Planning) MRP and e-Kanban output to prioritize material requirements to ensure uninterrupted plant workflow in a lean manufacturing environment emphasizing pull-planning techniques.

  • Convert and communicate demand requirements for products and services into detailed plans and schedules for inventory acquisition.

  • Manage the replenishment cycle, including Purchase Order (PO)/Work Order (WO) creation, PO/WO follow-up, inventory relief, transfer of materials (if required), and receipt of goods.

  • Liaise with appropriate departments i.e. Sourcing, Operations, to communicate potential service issues/risks and provide projected availability and/or short-term options to avoid service interruptions (for internal as well as external customers).

  • Work closely with appropriate departments (i.e. Sourcing, Engineering Services, etc.) regarding new product launches, engineering change orders/notifications (ECO/ECN), and/or product discontinuations to properly manage supply levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess/obsolete inventory.

  • Maintain planning system integrity and optimize parameters relative to material planning data. Monitor and recommend safety stock levels for each item in the planning portfolio at regular intervals. Collaborate with suppliers (internal and external) on the following (but not limited to) expedite/deferral requests, alternative shipping methods, and long-term supply plans (forecast sharing).

  • Primary work is within an office environment. However, some manufacturing plant interface will be necessary.

  • Up to 5% travel within 6-10 miles of primary work location may be required.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management or Supply Chain, or in lieu of the degree a High School Diploma or GED and 2+years of experience working in a supply planning role using planningconcepts and applications.

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization.

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent course of study

  • 5+ years of supply planning work experience within a formal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment (i.e. Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP, or another ERP system)

  • ASCM (Association for Supply Chain Management) accredited CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)
