Deployed Resources, LLC HVAC Technician II in Raeford, North Carolina

Summary and Scope

The HVAC Technician is primarily responsible for equipment installation, maintenance and rehabilitation at the Deployed Resources facility as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Inspect, repair, modify and install HVAC equipment including but not limited to, refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers and forced air converter units
  • Perform general maintenance functions for HVAC systems.
  • Perform skilled electrical maintenance work in the repair, installation and alteration of HVAC equipment, components, timers, motors and wiring systems as needed.
  • A comprehensive understanding of HVAC equipment and repair, with all the appropriate licenses to purchase and use refrigerant gases.
  • Operate site equipment to include but not limited to forklifts, trucks, work carts, yard maintenance equipment. (training will be provided).
  • Repair company equipment as needed to maintain serviceable condition.
  • Coordinate service calls when required.
  • Execution of contract work at job sites as assigned.
  • Perform other duties in addition to HVAC repairs as assigned

Skills and Specifications

  • Great organizational skills.
  • General knowledge of safe working practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations of state and local authorities pertaining to HVAC, refrigeration and boilers
  • Knowledge of air compressors, pneumatic controls, welding techniques and soldering techniques.
  • Knowledge of materials and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to calibrate systems
  • Read and interpret owners manuals, equipment schematics and work orders.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Have and maintain a clean driving record (able to drive company vehicles).
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to use hand tools
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to take direction and work well with a team

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, required.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as an HVAC technician
  • EPA certification preferred
  • OSHA 10 certification desired
  • Licenses to purchase and use refrigerant gases, preferred

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, see, hear, stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, climb, engage in repetitive motions, and use hands and fingers to manipulate objects, tools, or controls. May routinely and repetitively lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted (or heavier with the use of proper equipment and procedures).

Expected Hours of Work

The ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on contract needs. It is expected for this position to attend regular meetings during typical work hours in Eastern Standard Time as well as meetings as needed for assigned projects in other time zones.

Work Environment

This job operates in workshop, facility, and field environments. We operate 24/7/365, inside and outside, in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, hand tools, site equipment and vehicles, and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company. There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.

Travel

This position requires up to 10% travel. Travel is dependent on contract load. The ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required. Short notice travel is required with 24-48 hours notice.

Work Authorization

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)

  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, occupational health physical and lift test (if applicable), credit check (if applicable), and a background check upon accepting a conditional offer of employment.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license. Have/maintain a clean driving record.
