Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Raleigh, North Carolina

Robert Half has an exceptional opportunity for a permanent Accounts Payable (A/P) Specialist to join the team at a recognized company in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years AP processing experience, preferably in the construction industry. Your responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Specialist will include matching, batching, and coding invoices, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, and processing checks. Within this dynamic department, you will have the opportunity to advance and grow your career. The Accounts Payable Specialist role will be onsite in North Raleigh, North Carolina and is a permanent position with full benefits.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department

  • Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily

  • Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling

  • Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners

  • Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed

  • Carry out additional projects as required

  • Facilitate internal and external audits as needed

  • Accomplish full-cycle AP

    Requirements

  • Articulate customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • General familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics

  • Command of expense reports

  • Deep understanding of Sales Tax

  • General ledger experience

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

  • Adeptness in month end closings

  • Credit Card Reconciliation experience preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Vendor Management

  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • 3+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred
