Siemens Energy Project Engineering Manager in Raleigh, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Project Engineering Manager at Siemens Energy you will lead, in a project management capacity, a diverse team of engineering experts across multiple disciplines such as Electrical, Plant Layout, Mechanical, Civil, Process, Thermal Design, Controls and Instrumentation, to execute projects within the Siemens Energy Portfolio.

After aligning within the Project Management Team, including the General Project Manager and Commercial Project Manager, you engage in a vital discussion with the customer’s engineering consultant or Consortium Partner and your team to refine and clarify project specifics.

Following this, you guide your international engineering team and partners through a design and scope review, ensuring detailed coordination between disciplines and compliance with project requirements. You also conduct individual meetings with team members to address scope, schedule, and cost considerations. You conclude the day with a productive discussion with Site Management, setting the focus for your Site visit next month.

How You will Make an Impact

  • Support energy transformation initiatives, encompassing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of Combined Cycle Power Plants - Power Generation, High Voltage Alternate / Direct Current projects (HVAC and HVDC), Substations projects Power Transmission, Hydrogen, and hybrid solutions in a global environment; all pivotal projects in advancing our planet’s decarbonization efforts

  • Ability to craft the future of Energy through engagement with external partners (customers, consultants, authorities, suppliers etc.) and internal partners on technical topics

  • Lead, integrate and mentor individuals, comprising of diverse engineering disciplines (e.g. electrical, controls & instrumentation, process, mechanical, civil, plant layout, etc.), critical for building a cohesive team, pursuing common objectives in bid or execution projects

  • Effectively manage engineering related risks and opportunities and adhere to technical contract execution and documentation requirements.

What You Bring

  • University or College degree, preferably within the field of Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in related Engineering fields from the power generation, power transmission, power distribution and EPC market

  • Preferably 5 years of experience in overall technical project management

  • Site construction and commissioning experience preferred

  • Customer focus: Capability of changing perspectives and adapting strategies and actions to meet the needs of the dynamic environment.

  • Ability to lead an international, globally dispersed team with expertise in various engineering disciplines to achieve the high performing results

  • Flexibility and willingness to be present for limited periods (approximately 25%) on project sites, and support meetings with customers and other third-party companies around the globe, per project needs.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and occasional international travel

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
