The Opportunity
The Senior Analyst will be a part of Balance Sheet Management (BSM), specifically on the dynamic Data & Analysis team. In general, this team’s key responsibilities are to build an accurate and timely Current Position (CP), which is the foundation of Ally’s BSM / ALM activities, and to support the group’s ad hoc requests that arise through reporting, testing, or modeling needs. This role is suited for those interested in developing data analysis skills, learning about net interest income forecasting and interest rate risk, and maintaining a well-balanced base of knowledge about Ally’s balance sheet.
The Work Itself
- Manage roll forward routines as part of the CP Build process
- Validate and articulate variances that arise for NII / risk forecasts vs prior CP build
- Partner with internal teams, including BSM forecast, risk, and modeling teams to tackle troubleshooting that arises from CP Build process.
- Run cash flow analysis to support various hedging programs
- Collaborate with business partners throughout the organization including, but not limited to, Capital Markets, Liquidity Risk, Reg Reporting, Accounting, Technology, Capital Management and Corp / BU FP&A teams.
- Develop / deepen knowledge of SQL / Python to assist with variance analysis and to enhance existing processes
- Develop expertise in QRM Framework
- Develop expertise in NII forecasting / Interest Rate Risk
- Perform data analysis on various BSM needs, including ad hoc analysis
- Manage various monthly and quarter end reporting requirements
The Skills You Bring
- 3+ years’ experience in Finance, Treasury, Data Analysis, or related field in the financial industry required
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, data analysis or related field required
- Strong Excel skills required
- SQL / Python skills preferred but not required
- Ability to build consensus and communicate effectively required
- Ability to work with limited supervision
Exhibits a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
QRM, SAP, Eagle, Power BI, SAS, or Python Experience
- Knowledge and experience in auto finance of asset management
- Understanding of interest rate indexes and forward curves

An individual's position in the range is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
