Job Title: Automation Engineer
Job Description
Join a global network of manufacturing professionals at a 457,000 square foot aseptic 'fill and finish' site dedicated to producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. You will focus on key final production processes, including sterile formulation, filling, inspection, device assembly, and packaging. This is an onsite role in a pharmaceutical manufacturing area, supporting the engineering side of the business in a 24/7 run facility. The position involves working on new projects with various teams and continuous improvement projects. This is a 1st shift role with a rotation of 1 week on-call, including the ability to remote in and access to a separate cell phone.
Hard Skills
BA/BS in engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum ten (10) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, and/or packaging systems
Experience troubleshooting automation and control systems and batch processes
Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
Knowledgeable in SCADA (e.g., Ignition, FactoryTalk), PLC and HMI (Rockwell/AB, Siemens, etc.), historian/data collections
Programming and configuration of process control systems
Windows-based operating systems and associated applications
System interfacing and integration and user access management
Preferred: Virtual machines/environments (preferably VMWare), Oracle, IT competencies (domain, networking, firewall, group policies/permissions, system backup and restore), MES (PAS-X, etc.), and databases
Soft Skills
Proven expertise in planning/organization and project execution
Effective in following up on results and revising work plans
Work Environment
Onsite role in a pharmaceutical manufacturing area supporting the engineering side of the business. The facility operates 24/7. Teams include Chris's team (Aseptic side - clean utilities and inspection) and David's team (Finished packaging). This is a 1st shift role with a 1-week on-call rotation and the ability to remote in with a separate cell phone.
