Siemens Energy Senior Project manager Control and Protection HVDC in Raleigh, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Sub-PM HVDC C&P, you will lead a team of HVDC engineering specialists and play a meaningful role in integrating the state-of-the-art control and protection system for Siemens Energy HVDC projects in the US. We are looking for a hard-working, experienced engineer to lead a team of software, hardware, and testing & integration engineers. In this role, you will be required to handle engineering work packages in line with project and business objectives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Responsibility for the preparation of offers and project management of control technology and protection systems (Control & Protection) for high-voltage direct current transmission systems (HVDC) regarding time, financials, and quality

  • Manage an interdisciplinary and intercultural project team

  • Negotiate and handle contracts with suppliers, partners and customers (incl. change requests, contract and claim management)

  • Handles customer expectations and concludes the project to the satisfaction of the customer

  • Devises and implements strategies for strengthening customer dedication and market position, where applicable

What You Bring

  • Successfully completed university degree in electrical engineering, electrical power engineering or comparable with a standard duration of >4 years

  • 10+ years of experience as well as experience in project management

  • Technically knowledgeable in the areas of converter technology, high voltage technology and control technology and Knowledge of HVDC technology and plant engineering are ideal

  • You can demonstrate your project management expertise with relevant certifications such as PM@Siemens, PMI or IPMA.

  • As you act in an international environment you are perfectly proficient in speaking and writing both German and English, since you complete projects in both English and German

  • You are well structured, a great communicator and are optimistically striving for efficient win-win situations

  • An Approach to win – and to drive a team to match winning strategy and attractive offering

  • You take the initiative in identifying potentials for cost reduction and operate an active claim and opportunity management.

  • Intercultural experience is ideal as well as willing to travel (approx. 20%)
