Howmet Aerospace Assistant Controller in Rancho Cucamonga, California

SUMMARY

Under direction of the controller, ensures that all required financial statements and reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner according to corporate policies, generally accepted accounting principles, and applicable regulations and laws. Supports the controller in delivering on monthly performance targets, maintaining a structured compliance environment, and successful execution of business initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities.   • Own the monthly general ledger closing and reconciliation process

  • Support development of annual operating plans, forecasts, and conduct variance analysis for the location

  • Lead the completion of monthly financial control procedures to ensure the location meets Howmet audit/ASAT/SOX requirements

  • Provide accurate and timely reporting/forecasting/planning for the location

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and sharing of best practices

  • Provide support on an as needed basis for financial and control audits for both internal and external auditors

  • Support development of tools/reports to facilitate financial, commercial, and operational improvements

  • Lead development of tools/reports to facilitate operations to meet the financial plan

  • Ensure strict adherence to code of conduct and corporate policy

  • Create an environment where systems are used to accurately plan, forecast, and deliver according to expectations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Formal training and in-depth experience in cost accounting, financial accounting, local, state, and federal tax regulations, and financial analysis & reporting

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements

  • Sound judgment and appropriate level of risk for the situation at hand

  • Expert user of Microsoft Office products

  • Experience with Epicor, Oracle, and Hyperion a plus

PAY

$120,000 - $145,000/ year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
