VWR International, LLC CAR-T Lab Support Technician in Raritan, New Jersey

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Raritan, NJ

Schedule: (1st Shift) 4-days a week 10hr Shifts

Sun-Wed 7:30am-6:00pm or Wed-Sat 7:30am-6:00pm

What we're looking for

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Experience: 1-2 years experience in a laboratory setting and understanding of laboratory equipment, previous experience working in a GMP facility a plus

Collaboration Tool: Knowledge of Information intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel.

  • Must be flexible, motivated, and have the ability to act independently

  • Will need to be able to safely lift up to 50lbs

  • Must have the ability to understand, read, and write technical information.

How you will thrive and create an impact

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

  • Manage inventory including warehouse counts, laboratory expiry checks, sorting of materials and delivering to designated areas.

  • Maintain expired and non-expired chemicals/buffers/reagents/samples by discarding in the proper manner.

  • Completing room cleans via sweep and wet mop operations.

  • May include collection, inspection, distribution, data collection of various types of items/equipment.

  • Accurately record and communicate information to internal and external teams.

  • Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Perform kitting duties on a "by order" basis with multiple groups

  • Operate efficiently within a group environment.

  • Opportunity to work cross functionally within the department.

  • Ensure all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean, sterile, and in proper working order - this includes daily checks, calibrations, and cleaning of scales and pH meters.

  • Check waste and empty or arrange for removal when containers are full.
