As a System Power and Performance Architect at Reality Labs, you will lead system level power and performance modeling and requirement definition on upcoming AR products. The ideal candidate would have: a) Strong systems skills, prior experience driving architecture convergence on complex consumer electronics products. b) Experience with SoC evaluation, computer vision and machine learning algorithms, and SW/FW. c) Able to collaborate with experts in different fields to make architectural tradeoffs. We are looking for people who thrive in ambiguity, are able to map trade spaces, drive a concept into a prototype, and envision how a prototype could transition into a high-volume consumer product.

Required Skills:

AR System Power and Performance Architect Responsibilities:

  1. Own system power consumption modeling, use case data flow and latency analysis.

  2. Define system power and latency requirements for subsystem teams and drive cross-functional workstream prioritization.

  3. Work with product management and engineering teams across HW, SW, and FW and connect the E2E technical stack and determine product feature sets.

  4. Communicate technology and product strategy effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.

  5. Help define long-term technology roadmap and guide management and partner teams on technology investments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of product experience in electrical, computer engineering, or equivalent.

  2. Experience modeling system power and, using those models, inform trade-offs against key architectural decisions (e.g. battery life, thermals, silicon roadmaps, power load profiles).

  3. Experience with system architecture across electrical, firmware, software, audio, silicon, and thermal engineering.

  4. Communication experience working with Product Managers and other hardware/software cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Understanding of memory subsystems including mass storage and filesystem as well as volatile memory and memory management and their impacts on overall system performance.

  2. Experience with AR/VR or systems aimed at capturing/processing/delivering audio visual, IMU or other positional data streams.

  3. Experience creating system models to analyze system compute, latency and communication interface bandwidths.

  4. Working knowledge across the following areas with experience in at least one: Imaging and audio interfaces, optical, sensors, modules, ISP and algorithm fundamental. Communications: network impacts on latency, throughput and Jitter, VoIP, video communications Computer vision and machine learning.
