The HR Business Insights team drives data-based decisions to tackle strategic challenges and opportunities at Microsoft. We partner with HR Leaders and Business Leaders to help shape the workforce of the future. Our team advises HR through data-based insights and compelling storytelling to achieve business objectives and people priorities, enables deep insights for the HR orgs supporting key people and organization decisions and initiatives (including ROBs), and partners to grow data capability and enable modern data solutions that enhance HR’s work with data.

Come join this fabulous team as the Director owning and driving people analytics for several key functions within Microsoft. In this strategic role, you will partner with the HRLT and Business Leaders for these organizations, to understand the business and people priorities while discovering ways to measure and analyze their big bets related to D&I, Career Development, Employee Voice etc. The ideal candidate will be comfortable presenting and consulting with Senior Leaders across the Company as well as leading and advising through ambiguity. You will have the ability to think strategically and influence multiple stakeholders at a global level, problem solve effectively, and manage a complex and rich portfolio across all layers of the organization. All with the highest focus on customer obsession.


Job responsibilities:

In this role you will be challenged to:

  • Advise the HR CVPs responsible for the HR Line organizations on business problems and propose data driven analytics and solutions to pro-actively manage their people priorities.

  • Lead a global team of analysts responsible for analyzing data to draw insights and conclusions that can enable data driven business decisions for HR and Business Leaders. Help team to effectively plan, contract and communicate with customers, partners, and co-workers to define deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities.

  • Integrate across the HR Line as a thought leader by synthesizing business problems that enable analytics to drive relevant and actionable insights to senior leaders. Proactively identify opportunities to scale efforts across various organizations and build on the work of others.

  • Partner to create and sustain a data-driven culture within HR by using data and analytics through thought leadership, consultation, training, and solutions to educate clients on how to use data to tell stories and drive self-service solutions.


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years applied work experience using analytical methods to solve business problems, driving improved decision-making and outcomes preferred

Additional Qualifications:

  • Polished presentation and influencing skills: building meaningful slides, presenting them effectively to senior level clients and management, responding to questions on-the-fly based on in-role business context and acumen. Strong attention to detail and high commitment to quality of work.

  • Passionate about client relationships and optimizing impactful analysis-based deliveries with the opportunity to train and promote usage of thoughtful self-serve solutions.

  • Excellence in management with a passion for leading teams and developing talent.

  • Exceptional customer focus and project management skills – able to interact and contract professionally with a broad group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Technology including Excel and PowerBI.
