Director of the Viva Customer Zero business strategy

As a Director of the Viva Customer Zero business strategy, you will support the Leadership Team in creating, framing, and governing how we think about the Viva Microsoft Employee Experience - focused on transforming the experience for all employees across Microsoft. This is a high impact and highly visibility role that will drive strategy development, design, and business execution of EX strategic programs along with enabling ongoing high frequency executive engagement. This position collaborates across multiple teams including Human Resources, Microsoft Digital, Viva and Teams Engineering, and Legal.

This exciting opportunity provides visibility, influence, and leadership across all above teams. The Director of the Viva Customer Zero business strategy role is essential to the vision of the organization as being recognized as the world leader in Employee experience, engagement, and culture. This role calls for a balance of leadership, influence skills and individual contributions. You must be able to work well under pressure, have low ego with high confidence and interpersonal awareness, willing and able to partner effectively with diverse stakeholders, deliver impact under tight deadlines and must be flexible with strong ability to be effective amid ambiguity and uncertainty.


Strategic insights

Understand Employee experience & engagement trends and understand emerging differentiators across the industry ecosystem.

Identify, share, and leverage strategic insights to inform business plans and strategic program development.

Partner with the Microsoft Digital Research team as well as the Business Insights team to integrate feedback into requirements.

Identify and develop opportunities to drive employee satisfaction, engagement and productivity.

Business leadership and management of cross company strategic EX programs

Translate strategic insights into ROI driven business opportunities, design business proposals, develop and frame strategic programs, create detailed implementation plans and lead implementation directly and through other leaders/organizations.

Develop clear Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for Viva deployment in Microsoft.

Lead and land critical strategic initiatives for the business, including analyzing and framing options with rationale, aligning sponsors/stakeholders, and aiding implementation.

Develop business capabilities to enact strategy; turn business problems into thoughtful business requirements and oversee execution/development.

Partner to drive cross-discipline initiatives, including key issues analysis and recommendations.

Create concise and impactful written presentations and targeted communications as required to drive new strategies.

Develop and use key cross-functional business outcome measures, tools, and process in partnership with other teams to understand results and drive customer and business success.

Contribute to and foster an exceptional and inclusive work environment.

Develop, operationalize, and manage the framework for strategic EX program prioritization, initiation, resourcing, execution, adoption, and transition to run business.


Skills and Qualifications/ Minimum Qualifications:

10+ years work experience with Human Resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, training, performance management)

OR Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field AND 9+ years of work experience with Human Resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, training, performance management).

Experience as implementation lead for key people rhythms, demonstrated excellence in business insights/data analytics and project management, etc.

Strength in budget management, project management, execution, communication, and collaboration.

Solid experience with Microsoft Tools (e.g. InsightsHR, MSS, Teams, Expense 2.0, PPT, OneNote, excel, etc.) and rhythm of business processes (e.g. Budget, Talent Talks, MS Poll, etc.)

Deep understanding of the HR function, both line and Centers of Excellence (COE)

4+ years of project management or operational efficiency experience

Prior experience building effective senior client relationships and driving a global agenda preferred
