MICROSOFT CORP Electrical Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft Corporation has the following job opportunity:

Design, develop, modify, or evaluate electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, or systems related to Microsoft technologies. Research, design, develop, test, or monitor the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems that support Microsoft technologies. Develop test plans in the preparation and execution of design testing or prototype fabrication. Analyze designs and devices to establish operating parameters, conduct experimental tests through both simulation and physical evaluation, and perform analyses on data generated from test results to verify and validate whether operating parameters are met. Identify root causes for technical issues, flaws, and design challenges, and develop and implement solutions. May select device materials and components based on analysis of specifications and reliability. May generate documentation related to designs, including development status, technical specifications, functionality, materials, compatibility with other devices, and testing procedures. Telecommute work permitted 50% or more (but not 100%) within the same geographic area as assigned Microsoft office location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

     

  • Experience: Six (6) months of experience in researching, analyzing, designing and/or testing electrical or electronic circuits, components, or systems.

     

  • Specific Skills: This position also requires at least 6 months of experience in the following skills: Schematic design; Cadence Allegro; Printed circuit board design; Embedded Systems/Microcontrollers; Communication protocols (USB, SPI, I2C and UART); Electromagnetic fields and transmission lines; and Root cause electrical system failure.

Pay Range and Benefits Information:  The offered base pay range for this specific position (Job Code: TSMAB17874), in Redmond, WA, is $141,900 to $161,900.

Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. 

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role. Benefits/perks listed may vary depending on the nature of employment with Microsoft and the country work location. U.S.-based employees also receive, per calendar year, up to 10 paid holidays and personal days (full-time employees receive 6 holidays plus 4 personal days; part-time employees receive 2 holidays plus 2 personal days), and receive up to 80 hours Holistic Health Time Off. Additionally, hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 80 hours paid vacation time, and salaried/exempt employees have Discretionary Time Off (DTO).
