Microsoft Corporation Event Manager in Redmond, Washington

We’re seeking an experienced Event Manager to join our team as the community event manager. You will be at the forefront of orchestrating impactful online and in-person events that showcase Dynamics 365 and Power Platform. You will drive the strategic planning and execution of events, manage resources effectively, and create memorable experiences. Your expertise in managing events and communicating effectively will make sure that Microsoft has a positive impact at events around the world and support our growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an event tiering strategy to determine event selection, prioritization, and resource allocation per event.

  • Lead the event planning and execution process for online and in-person events.

  • Orchestrate all event workstreams, ensuring seamless coordination and communication across teams.

  • Run internal and external communications related to events, keeping all relevant parties informed and engaged.

  • Coordinate in-person presence at events, including the selection of swag items, booth design, and on-site activities.

  • Build and maintain relationships with third party event organizers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Manage the event budget, ensuring all events are delivered within the allocated financial resources.

  • Define and measure the success of events in alignment with our community growth objectives.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 4+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Proficient in program management, managing multiple complex workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

  • OR Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 3+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related role

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience in community building and social media engagement.

  • A team player with leadership skills.

  • Prior experience with technology marketing.

  • Comfortable managing a team of vendors.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft’s ecosystem and partner networks.

  • Outstanding communication skills.

  • Familiarity with event KPIs and marketing techniques for event management.

  • Proven experience as an event manager.

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
