About this role

As an Event Specialist Field Service Technician deployed with our client in Redmond WA , you'll be the go-to expert for supporting both traditional and modern audiovisual (AV) systems, ensuring flawless execution of in-person and hybrid events. With a comprehensive understanding of AV technologies and strong troubleshooting skills, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end customer experience, from initial consultation to event completion. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners, you'll manage break-fix escalations and provide on-site support, including installation, servicing, and repair of complex systems. Your leadership and guidance will be invaluable in mentoring less experienced personnel, while your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills will enable effective interaction with executive-level clientele in a dynamic work environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and hands-on expertise in supporting both legacy and modern audiovisual (AV) systems.

  • Provide seamless support for in-person and hybrid AV-enabled events.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot complex AV systems, ensuring uninterrupted functionality.

  • Take ownership of the end-to-end customer experience, from initial consultation to event completion.

  • Collaborate with internal support teams and external production partners to ensure smooth operations.

  • Manage break-fix escalations effectively to minimize downtime.

  • Offer on-site field support, including installation, servicing, and repair of intricate systems and equipment, while upholding operational quality standards.

  • Resolve customer issues related to hardware/software installation, repair, upgrade, and maintenance, including complex installations and maintenance challenges.

  • Instruct customers on system/equipment operation and maintenance procedures.

  • Ensure timely referral of issues to appropriate personnel/service areas for follow-up, testing, and troubleshooting.

  • Act as a primary point of contact for customers, addressing administrative and technical concerns for assigned projects.

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis and prepare reports on system problem trends and resolutions.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced personnel in the field.

Basic Qualifications

  • Preferred certifications and experience with Biamp, Crestron, Extron, and similar systems.

  • AVIXA or equivalent certification is advantageous.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting methodologies with a solid understanding of audio, video, and conferencing technologies, including signal flow.

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Six or more years of field support experience.

  • Familiarity with the company's hardware, software, and equipment products.

  • Experience in meeting customer technology and support requirements.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.

  • Office environment with occasional fieldwork.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $30 - $33 per hour.
