Microsoft Corporation Principal Program Manager, Workforce Strategy & Planning in Redmond, Washington

As a CO+I Principal Program Manager, Workforce Strategy & Planning you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. As a Principal Program Manager, Workforce Strategy & Planning you will provide programmatic leadership and lead innovative initiatives that will support our current and future CO+I workforce growth, supporting financial forecasting, data driven workforce capacity planning in collaboration with various organizations to ensure the efficient utilization of Full-Time Employee (FTE) and Vendor resources.

  • This role is located in Redmond, WA.

  • Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will be required to ​relocate or reside within 50 miles of the office location.

  • This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Perform program related research and analysis, forecasting support, and examine business trends to align program scope, stay current, agile, and competitive, and contribute to Workforce related programs impacting CO+I.

  • Solve complex problems and synthesizes across organizational boundaries. Drive consensus to prioritize key business goals, objectives, and strategies, and develop short- and long-term Workforce Strategy & Planning priorities.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies, drive digitization of processes related to workforce management and planning in collaboration with the tools development team.

  • Collect, consolidate, and analyze data and provide insights to support decision making for staffing adjustments and process improvements, including preparing internal reporting deliverables, analyzing trends & drivers

  • Stay up to date of industry trends and advancements in workforce management technologies, and recommend innovative technology to drive improvements against our organizational Workforce Strategy & Planning objectives.

  • Collaborate with other organization such as Operations, Learning & Development, Strategy & Planning, HR, Recruiting, Finance, and Tools & Technology to ensure alignment between workforce strategies and overall business goals.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 10+ years mission critical services experience (e.g., high availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields)

  • OR 11+ years mission critical services experience (e.g., high availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields)

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 8+ years' work experience in program management, process management, process improvement OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience in creating road maps for large projects to gain efficiencies and proven experience in delivering to road map capabilities.

  • Understanding of multi-state, multi-country, or federal-level labor laws and employment conditions & requirements

  • Experience with MS Cloud Services and Platforms (e.g., Windows Azure, Office 365, Excel Pivot tables, etc.)

  • Project or program management certification(s) (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, PMI, etc.)

  • 5+ years' experience with reporting and data analysis systems & platforms (e.g., PowerBI)

Data Center Operations Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,800 - $267,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,800 - $294,000 per year.
