Microsoft Teams is core to Microsoft's vision for intelligent communications. We are the hub for teamwork in Office 365 with hundreds of thousands of organizations and tens of millions of users across the globe using Teams. We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to drive some of our efforts in calling and meetings for Teams Devices. This position is with the Microsoft Teams Devices team which tackles the toughest challenges in the collaboration and productivity space with customer driven shipping timelines by collaborating with multiple partner teams on technologies across the company and beyond.

As a Principal Software Engineer, we are looking for a person who is comfortable about creating software that runs on devices or on a Desktop. You have experience developing with TypeScript, React or any modern Web Stack and REST APIs. Familiarity with C#, ASP .Net and C++ is a plus. Responsibilities
Be a leader in drivingfeatures for Microsoft Teams Rooms devices.
Be customer obsessed. Understanding and anticipating the needs of our customers in a changing business and technology landscape is critical.
Have an understanding of Web applications, deep understanding of the competitive landscape and usage scenarios.
Product vision and ability to plan and design various features in stages to reach the end goal in an evolutionary way is critical.
Earn the technical respect of the people on your team. The ideal candidate should be capable of working in the code, supporting partner services and driving deliverable across a team.
Leverage subject-matter expertise of product features and partner with appropriate stakeholders to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.
Apply the frontier of artificial intelligence (AI)/ large language model (LLM) technologies to invent and deliver features that delight customers.
Be part of a motivated and collaborative engineering team.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
4+ years’ experience in designing andimplementingweb-based applications using modern web frameworks like React, Angular etc.,
Knowledge in LLM or AI or other similar technologies.
Experience mentoring new developers and early in career engineers in the team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Collaboration skills, and ability to be adaptable and agile in development.
Experience with software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
Experience on WebRTC (Web Real-Time communication) media stack.
Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills.
Demonstrated passion for building end-user experiences.
Knowledge of computer science, algorithms and design patterns.
Ability to appreciate complex problems with thorough design and collaborate with multiple partners on common goals.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
