Honeywell Principal Systems Engineer in Redmond, Washington
As a Principal Systems Engineer here at Honeywell you will be joining a team that designs, develops and integrates sophisticated Avionics Systems within Honeywell Aerospace. You will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the needs of our Commercial Airplane customers. You will be involved in every aspect of the systems life cycle; from the front end of business development through product end of life. You will get to interact closely with our customer and in house teams to meet the demands of the ever-evolving Airline Industry.
You will report directly to our Sr Software Engineer Manager and you’ll work out of our Redmond, WA location on an On-Site work schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Aircraft Level Avionics systems design, integration, and test.
Systems validation and test of new Avionics functionality on our sophisticated dynamic aircraft simulation and test facilities (Integrated Test Benches).
Perform integration of our Avionics systems into Integrated Test Benches, including validation of Avionics interfaces with the Aircraft Simulation, Hardware Platform, and other Avionics systems, through standard protocols such as A429, A664, A661, etc.
Provide system engineering and integration support to multiple Avionics teams and products including Flight Management Systems (FMS), Communication Management Function (CMF), Central Maintenance Function (CMCF), and Aircraft Condition Monitoring Systems (ACMS), and other Federated Avionics Systems (Multi Mode Radio, Earth Reference System, etc.)
Interact with Honeywell customers and program stakeholders
Some project oversight and coordination
Interface with the customer for face to face test activities and interaction
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
- Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
10+ years of systems, software, or aerospace engineering experience

Knowledge of systems, software, and hardware development lifecycle
Experience with avionics, flight controls, maintenance systems, or related aircraft systems
Knowledge/Interest in Airplane Systems and the Airplane operating environment
Individuals that quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts.

Eager to Learn Self-motivated individuals able to work with little supervision
Ability to adapt dictated by project changes
Multi-tasking and the ability to manage a number of complex tasks

Salary Range: 169K - 211,500K
