Microsoft Corporation Product Marketing Manager, Azure and Industry in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft is on a mission to drive mindshare, consumption, and high revenue growth for the Azure public cloud worldwide. The Azure and Industry Marketing team is looking for a Product Marketing Manager, with a unique combination of strategic, business and technical skills to support key stakeholders streamlining the Azure product portfolio and making sure it aligns with current and future business priorities.

This Inbound role will require strong orchestration and collaboration across engineering, business planning, finance, and marketing to enable teams to formulate and deliver product strategy, monetization and Go-To-Market (GTM) recommendations to Corporate Vice Presidents (CVP) of Marketing and Business Planning. In this role you will get to work across Microsoft Azure’s Customer Solution Area (CSA) teams plan the respective portfolio strategy, monetization approaches and land that through a consistent GTM motion. Responsibilities

  • Work together with x-functional Azure CSA teams (Engineering, Product Marketing, Business Planning, Finance) to establish and execute semester planning rhythms going from product concept to launch.

  • Build upon the knowledge of others and drive alignment on portfolio priorities, with a clear definition of success.

  • Establishing processes and frameworks to help Marketing successfully execute launches working across stakeholder teams within Marketing (CSA Product Marketing, Global Demand Center (GDC) and Naming, Launch & Disclosure, etc.)

  • Build and execute roadmap planning initiatives working with CSA teams in (Product Management Group) (PMG) and their Engineering counterparts to drive downstream strategy and launch.

  • Manage day-to-day Portfolio Planning rhythm and stakeholder processes.

  • Consolidating the timeline of portfolio delivery, incorporating both engineering up-stream dependencies and marketing down-stream dependencies.

  • Communicating status, risks, and blockers regularly with extended stakeholder group

  • Preparing and presenting agreed-upon recommendations to a variety of stakeholders, including Corporate Vice Presidents of engineering and marketing teams through clear, concise documents and presentations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 2+ years experience in business

  • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience within GTM/Marketing strategy, Product Management, Project Management or Operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in business

  • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in business

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Executive presence, cross-group collaboration, and communication skills to influence senior leaders across a highly matrixed organization.

  • The ability to break giant amorphous problems into discrete solvable components and apply rigorous logic to arrive at solutions.

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure products and services.

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft’s cloud computing strategy and business priorities.

Product Marketing IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $83,400 - $167,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $108,900 - $183,000 per year.
