Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington
We are building the Microsoft inference cloud. This is a new core foundational services powers all Copilots for Microsoft and AOAI (Azure OpenAI Service) customers. As the number of scenarios and customer usage of Copilot(s) increases, an efficient fabric optimizing availability and utilization of inference capacity is the key to fulfilling the fast-growing demand. In this mission.
we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will help us build scalable, highly available, distributed systems that form the base to realize ambitious Microsoft vision for AI.

Responsibilities
Build, deliver, and support high-quality distributed services to power the ML experience
Technical leadership, coaching and mentoring a team of highly skilled Software Engineers
Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of platform while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale
Guide discussions for the architecture of products/solutions and create proposals for architecture by testing design hypotheses and helping to refine code plans. Provide reactions, proposed solutions, and inputs to architects

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. o OR equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience building new micro-services.
4+ years of experience building large scale distributed cloud services.

- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python o OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python o OR equivalent experience.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
