Robert Half Software Development Engineer in Test (Games) in Redmond, Washington
Description
We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Software Developer in Redmond, Washington. The role involves developing and maintaining test automation frameworks for games, utilizing Unreal Engine and other game engines. The successful candidate will be required to showcase our client's technology using popular game engines and develop well-documented, maintainable code in C# and C++.
Responsibilities
Create examples using popular game engines to showcase our client's technology.
Modify the code to enhance its testability.
Develop clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in C# and C++.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in C# and C++ within game engines like Unreal Engine.
Proactively monitor software for errors and diagnose their cause
Requirements
At least one year of experience in tools and automation development for desktop or console gaming.
Proficiency in popular game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity.
Strong skills in debugging code written in C++ and C#.
The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Perforce.
A basic understanding of command line interfaces like Cmd or PowerShell.
Fluency in English.
Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and unit testing.
Experience with bug tracking tools.
A meticulous attention to detail.
Highly developed technical communication skills.
Understanding of QA processes, test scope requirements, and testing methods.
