Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We are looking to hire a Software Engineer II to join our team.

Our capacity management capability relies on telemetry and usage data, and data pipelines flow the information to the right destinations and manage data and tools within the environment. Software Engineer II is required to ensure the data quality, reliability of the data pipeline and investigate any issues with data and ingestion/transformation jobs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data to root cause data quality issue

  • Manage production system and ensure high availability

  • Design and implement solutions for engineering operation excellence.

  • Perform end-to-end testing inside the environment.

  • Perform engineering work to meet security standards.

  • Support program management with metric

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience with the Microsoft cloud and/or stack, including O365, Azure, Windows, or other Microsoft software/services.

  • Experience leveraging cloud architecture, applying site reliability principles, and/or demonstrating sensitivity to operational concerns.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to debug, fix, and optimize code.

  • Familiarity with one or more general-purpose programming languages, including but not limited to Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, and PowerShell.

  • Full stack troubleshooting skills across network, application, hardware, management fabric, and distributed services layers.

  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
