Microsoft Corporation Sourcing & Category Management: MBA Internship Opportunity in Redmond, Washington

As a Sourcing and Category Management Specialist Intern, you will support and assist in defining and executing sourcing strategies for projects and purchasing opportunities. You will help identify improvement opportunities, support contract and pricing negotiations, and ensure adherence to policies and accuracy of deliverables. Additionally, you will assist in processing procurement requests and collaborate with suppliers to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to policy and assist in educating stakeholders and suppliers on compliance, contributing to the remediation and resolution of sourcing issues with minimal guidance.

  • Support contract and pricing negotiations to meet price and capacity needs, while reflecting Microsoft's cross-functional engagements with suppliers.

  • Assist in processing procurement requests and collaborate with suppliers to ensure consistency, timeliness, quality, and accuracy of deliverables in alignment with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Help identify improvement opportunities by evaluating procedural or operational shortcomings and share improvement strategies with senior team members.

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables, communicate potential delays to procurement stakeholders, and execute contingency measures as directed.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. 

  • Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship. 

The base pay range for this internship is USD $5,010 - $9,930 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $6,590 - $10,890 per month.
