Job Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic IV diagnoses and repairs machine breakdowns, potentially rebuilding machines as needed. The ideal candidate will be an expert in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems essential for plant machinery and facility operations.

This position involves access to information regulated under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, persons granted asylee status, or persons admitted as refugees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots advanced mechanical and electrical machinery breakdowns.

  • Assists with preventative and emergency maintenance programs.

  • Replaces parts such as motors and drives.

  • Understands PLC programs for machinery, including robots.

  • Performs fabrication, mig, and tig welding.

  • Provides technical support to the maintenance department and engineering.

  • Completes work orders and repair logs.

  • Trains maintenance personnel in areas of expertise.

  • Adheres to safety guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Maintains general housekeeping of the work area.

  • Handles other maintenance projects as assigned.

  • May require overtime based on business needs.

What your background should look like:

An Associate's degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, or Industrial Technology plus 2+ years’ experience in electronics or mechanical fields, or 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing involving hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical repair, and motor controls in a plant environment is preferred.

Familiarity with the National Electrical Code; Electrical Contractor's License preferred.

5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance role working on hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical repair, and motor control systems.

1+ years’ experience in heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration is a plus.

Required skills:

  • Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical blueprint reading (experience with non-U.S. blueprints preferred)

  • Proficiency with micrometers, oscilloscopes, amp meters, gauges, rulers (metric and standard), and shop equipment (drill press, milling machine, welding)

  • Math skills (decimals, percentages) for electrical wiring

  • Work prioritization to successfully accomplish job duties

  • Proficiency in English

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $78,936 – $118,404 (subject to change dependent on physical location)

• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
