What You’ll Get to Do:

In this position you will work alongside our Linux developers. This team is responsible for the architecture and development of software that will run on Linux and a custom-built embedded devices running Linux variants. To be successful in this position you will need to enjoy challenges that range from moderately to highly complex while drawing on all domains of knowledge you and the team possess. You should expect daily work will touch on embedded Linux, networking, client server relationships and communication, embedded hardware, mobile devices, and so much more. The outcome of your work will be to help secure communications of critical systems operated by our current and future clients.

More About the Role:

  • As a Senior Software Engineer your primary responsibility is to develop and maintain software applications that run on Linux-based operating systems in support of our products. Your job description may include:

  • Developing Linux-based applications: You will be responsible for developing software applications that run on Linux-based operating systems using programming languages such as Python, Bash, C, C++ Designing and implementing software solutions: You will be responsible for designing and implementing software solutions that meet the specific requirements of the organization.

  • Integrating with third-party software: You will be responsible for integrating software applications with third-party software, including databases, web servers, and other software systems.

  • Writing and testing code: You will be responsible for writing, testing, and debugging code to ensure that the software applications are functional and meet the requirements of the organization.

  • Reviewing and Mentoring Junior Developers: Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality. Mentoring junior developers on the best coding practices

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams: You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure that the software applications meet the needs of the organization.

  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends: You will be required to keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in Linux-based software development, including software development methodologies, tools, and techniques.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 10+ Years’ experience in software development with Python, C/C++, Java

  • 7+ Years’ experience working with Linux

  • 7+ Years’ experience with scripting languages such as Bash

  • 7+ Years’ experience with Linux on Embedded Platforms

  • Strong networking and VPN experience in particular Iptables, IPSEC, Strongswan

  • Past experience in an Agile Scrum environment

  • Experience leading and mentoring junior developers

  • Working knowledge of PKI

  • Must be a US citizen and must be able to obtain clearance at the Secret Level

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with OpenSSL and FIPS/NIAP Certification Processes

  • Experience with cryptography and encryption algorithms/concepts (not looking for a cryptographer)

  • Experience with Hypervisors, RedHat KVM in Particular

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$104,200-$229,200
