The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is currently seeking suitable candidates to perform work over two programs of work for two separate RFQs.
RFQ041 - Payday Super Program of Work
Payday Super represents a transformative opportunity to modernize the Super Guarantee (SG) system, addressing the estimated $5.1 billion in unpaid SG annually and improving retirement incomes for millions of Australians. It introduces a core requirement for employers to make super contributions to funds within seven calendar days of payday, significantly accelerating current processes.
The implementation of Payday Super involves extensive collaboration across the SG ecosystem, including employers, digital service providers, gateways, clearing houses, super funds, and the ATO. Preparations include adapting systems, workflows, and compliance practices to meet the faster pace required by the new system. Legislative changes are being developed by Treasury, while the ATO and industry stakeholders work proactively to align with upcoming requirements.
Key to this transition is the ATO's enhanced capability to match Single Touch Payroll data with super contribution reports. This allows for proactive compliance monitoring and faster intervention when employers fail to meet obligations, ensuring more timely contributions for workers. Payday Super will drive significant operational and cultural shifts within the superannuation industry, requiring readiness for faster data processing and regulatory responses.
RFQ042 - Super, Tax and Registry Systems (STARS) Portfolio
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is delivering IT services within the Super, Tax, and Registry Systems portfolio. This work spans the Income Tax, Indirect Tax, Superannuation, and Single Touch Payroll programs, enabling taxpayers and stakeholders to meet their reporting, payment, and compliance obligations. The programs involve implementing IT changes with wide-ranging impacts on government, industry, and the Australian community.
FOR BOTH RFQs: The ATO is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Test Analyst to support the successful delivery of the above programs of work. This transformative program modernizes the Super Guarantee (SG) system, ensuring faster and more accurate superannuation contributions for millions of Australians. As a Test Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and functionality of the systems and processes required for Payday Super. You will design, execute, and document test cases to validate that all system components meet business and legislative requirements.

Identify test scenarios and prioritize test coverage to align with project goals.
Execute manual and automated test cases across various environments to ensure system functionality, performance, and compliance.
Identify, log, and track defects, collaborating with developers and analysts to resolve issues.
Perform end-to-end system and integration testing to validate seamless interaction across components of the SG ecosystem.
Test data flows between systems, including payroll systems, clearing houses, super funds, and the ATO.
Conduct regression testing to ensure that new changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
Verify compliance with legislative requirements related to Payday Super.
Document test results, including detailed defect reports and test execution summaries.
Provide regular progress updates to the Test Manager and project stakeholders.
Work closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and retrospectives, to contribute to team success.
Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as a Test Analyst in large-scale, compliance-driven projects.
Strong understanding of testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing.
Proficiency in testing tools such as JIRA, Selenium, or similar platforms.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
