Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the review and analysis of accurate financial statements and disclosures based on actual results. Consolidate, analyze and report financials in compliance with reporting regulations.

  • Partner with Operational controller to lead quarterly and monthly balance sheet reviews for the business. Own and drive Balance Sheet analytics, with a hands-on approach. Proactively monitor balance sheet accounts during the close and lead preparation / review and ownership of multiple balance sheet FSLI’s plus total Balance-sheet analytics at end of reporting period.

  • Own review of quarterly and annual "data request" submissions to corporate team.

  • Ensure integrity of financial statements through quarterly balance sheet reviews and other controllership rhythms.

  • Developing specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in Technical accounting. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional / Technical accounting developments. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Research technical accounting literature and company policies to provide application guidance on accounting issues, consulting with Global Controller / Vernova Technical Controller, as necessary and manage & lead new standard implementation.

  • Partner with P&L CFOs on technical accounting issues (i.e., deal structuring, accounting for specific commercial nuances, etc.).

  • Owns development of process maps, risk control matrix’s and improving control framework for financial reporting processes.

  • Drive consistent, documented accounting policies and procedures along with accounting policy simplification and harmonization initiatives across GE Digital businesses.

  • Partnering with Revenue Controller for revenue recognition through proactive contract / deal reviews and participation in new go-to-market strategies

  • Provide leadership and guidance to operations for financial transactions and processes (ITO accounting).

  • Partner with Finance teams on operational reviews of ongoing deals to identify and provide guidance on accounting.

  • Lead and support M&A related accounting, disclosure and audit requirements and review with Global Business Controller and Vernova Controllership.

  • Partner with Internal auditors, external auditors to resolve complex technical accounting matters for Statutory and USGAAP audits.

  • Lead initiatives identified by Global Business Controller

  • Developing specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Finance & Financial Reporting. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

  • For roles in USA - Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

  • Preferred, CA or CPA; Minimum of 6 years combined experience in a public accounting firm of national repute and industry experience with large multi-national firm.

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven technical accounting expertise, including a thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP

  • Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve complex financial issues.

  • Proven management and organizational experience, including coordinating multiple people / projects simultaneously

  • Experience with operating with ERP; proficient with Microsoft Office products.

  • Strong "presence" - ability to influence peers and leadership team

The salary range for this position is 112,000.00 - 140,00.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/. Available benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision. *Please note, the benefits can be Health, Medical, 401K, Paid Leave.
