PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $100,900.00-$123,200.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $78,400.00 - $145,800.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

As a Senior Financial Accountant at BECU, your expertise will shape the financial landscape, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Your contributions will be pivotal in maintaining proper accounting, facilitating growth, and promoting financial excellence within our organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Drive Accuracy and Compliance: Maintain the integrity of financial records by preparing general ledger account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, conducting variance analysis, and computing/recording complex journal entries in compliance with GAAP standards. Your attention to detail, assessment, and judgement will ensure the completeness and proper classification of accounting information.

  • Collaborate and Streamline Operations: Engage with colleagues to resolve accounting issues, advise on best practices, and enhance financial efficiencies. Your input will improve controls and contribute to a seamless financial close reporting process.

  • Interpret and Implement Best Practices: Review and interpret financial documents, while developing recommendations to uphold accounting standards and ensure proper recognition of financial transactions.

  • Utilize Data Tools and Innovate: Learn and leverage enterprise systems and tools to analyze data and streamline/automate responsibilities effectively.

  • Enhance Financial Systems: Contribute to the design and implementation of new accounting systems, processes, and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of errors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience and a thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and related regulatory matters.

  • Experienced in planning, prioritizing, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and making informed decisions that show consistent attention to detail, analytic skills, and exercise of professional judgement with a high degree of accuracy.

Desired Qualifications:

  • CPA/CMA or continuing education towards CPA/CMA
