Job Overview:

As an IT Asset Management Analyst with APTIM, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the lifecycle of virtual and physical assets within our organization's IT infrastructure. In addition, your role will involve inventory management, capacity planning, performance optimization, compliance management, disaster recovery, automation, virtualization technology expertise, software testing, license management, documentation creation, and asset procurement.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Inventory Management: Track and maintain a comprehensive inventory of software, physical and virtual assets.
  • Capacity Planning: Conduct third-party software testing to ensure compatibility and performance within the company's environment. Act as a liaison between third-party vendor support and the company's users when technical issues arise.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze asset and software performance to identify bottlenecks and optimize resource allocation.
  • Compliance Management: Implement strategies to reduce costs associated with physical or virtual assets, such as assessing resource requirement evaluation by use case or optimizing storage usage. Develop and maintain familiarity with the company's software, hardware, and virtual catalog so that advice and guidance can be offered to users who are unsure what solution they need.
  • Disaster Recovery: Coordinate with Systems and Architecture team to develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for software, hardware, and virtual assets to minimize downtime in case of failures or outages.
  • Automation: Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities then develop cost effective solutions that reduce repeated manual interactions and streamline workflows. Monitor existing automated processes for quality assurance and efficiency.
  • Virtualization Technology Expertise: Knowledge and understanding of virtualization technologies, such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Citrix.
  • Software Testing: Assist with testing new software releases to ensure compatibility within the environment. Work closely with the cybersecurity department to identify potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Licensing Management: Track and manage software licenses to avoid compliance issues. Closely track software usage, number of users, and number of available licenses so that senior management can make informed budgetary decisions.
  • System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Experience: Utilize SCCM to manage and configure virtual assets, troubleshooting and documenting software instillation processes and procedures. Provide second-tier support to help desk technicians for software-related issues.
  • Documentation Creation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for IT Asset Management processes and procedures. Write, review, and update company work procedures involving software requests, reviews, and deployments.
  • Asset and Software Procurement: Oversee the asset purchasing process, including vendor interaction and procurement. This will require close communication with the userbase to ensure that license availability or computer resources are correctly sized to match need and budget.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience being an IT Asset Management Analyst
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support services.
  • Proven track record of problem solving and independent work success.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix)
  • Experience with System Center Configuration Manager
  • Proven experience in software testing, deployment, and licensing management.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills ยท Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Travel may be required to meet with associates, internal clients, or vendors. Driver's license and insurance necessary for travel.
  • Excellent organizational skills
