Who we are looking for
The Web Operations Support role will utilize AWS infrastructure experience in combination with a knowledge of muti-tier web architectures. Familiarity with Agile Process, unit automated testing and deployment is necessary. This individual will work in close coordination with clients as well as Smartronix partners.
Candidate will lead development efforts and participate in the overall architecture of websites from planning, strategy, and approach perspective.
Update existing web sites with new content or features.
Migrate web sites to new AWS environments.
Ensure that web sites comply with federal standards such as Section 508, industry standards and best practices, and other style and technical standards.
Work with Content Specialist and Graphic Designer to incorporate new features into sites.
Support the full project lifecycle to include strategy, design, implementation, and automation, as well as production-readiness and documentation.
Produce high-quality technical design, build and procedure documentation.
Provide regular status updates to Project Manager.
Actively contribute to internal Smartronix efforts.
Be able to jump into troubleshooting efforts when asked and as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
5+ years working or consulting directly on client-facing project engagements
2+ years leveraging AWS platform services in a hands-on capacity
Bachelor's Degree or additional 5 years of relevant Information Technology experience accepted in lieu of degree.
AWS Certification strongly preferred
In-depth understanding of core AWS services, especially those related to web hosting, including but not limited to: IAM, Elastic Beanstalk, Networking, VPC, API Gateway, CloudFormation.
Hands-on experience automating the creation, provisioning and management of AWS IAM users, groups, roles and policies, boundary policies required.
Hands-on experience with AWS Services: EC2, S3, SQS, Parameter Store required
Hands-on experience with CloudFormation, Elastic Beanstalk, CodeCommit, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and infrastructure as code concepts required
Hands-on experience with the development of automation scripts, container services or serverless compute (Lambda, AWS Batch) desired
Hands-on experience configuring supporting common infrastructure roles and tools (e.g.: DNS, NTP, Group Policy, Active Directory/ADFS, Web Application Firewalls, logging services, web proxies) desired.
Familiarity with continuous integration services and supporting tools- e.g.: CodePipeline, Jenkins.
Ability to translate client requirements and needs into proven design patterns.
Proven ability to document, promote and present your work to other teams and to client.
