System One Project Manager - Service in Reno, Nevada
Job Description: The Project Manager - Service oversees, develops, and implements projects of varying complexity within the assigned functional area. This role partners with business stakeholders to ensure successful project completion. Will specifically manage two Google startup data centers in the Reno, NV area, including installations and commissioning of generators.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Lead multiple projects from inception to completion.
Facilitate project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine project scope and objectives.
Work with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals.
Design project plans, develop timelines, identify milestones, and track performance against goals and timelines.
Identify, track, and resolve project issues.
Monitor and communicate project status to the project team.
Plan and monitor project budgets; conduct research and analysis; provide input into project plan and timeline design.
Manage project risks; use quality tools to identify and address areas of risk.
Document and share team learnings; draw on other project experiences to enhance project success.
Maintain project notes, databases, and records; monitor and communicate project status with Project Sponsors and other stakeholders.
Identify and assign resources for various project tasks; guide and coach team members; provide developmental feedback.
Field-Specific Duties:
Manage the installation and commissioning of 14 - 78L Gensets, starting from June 2024 through June 2025.
Oversee the installation of 15 - 78L gens starting in Q4 2024 with commissioning through December 2025.
Handle scheduling, on-site meetings, issue resolution, resource scheduling, customer experience documentation, and on-site safety leadership.

This position is for a Field Project Manager tasked with managing two data center startup projects for Google in the Reno, NV area.

The Project Manager position is fully funded by the Strategic Data Center Team and focused on service start-up projects.
