Our company was founded by an entrepreneur whose daughter was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition. She sought to find treatment options and a cure for her daughter and patients like her. The selected intern will need to report onsite at the RTP, office for the entire duration of the program which runs from May through August 2025. United Therapeutics does not provide housing or transportation. A stipend for relocation assistance may be provided on a case-by-case basis.

Program Details:

• All internships are paid, up to 40 hours/week.

• Interns are responsible for arranging their housing and transportation. A relocation stipend may be provided for non-local candidates. Determinations will be made on a case-by-case basis.

• 2025 Internship Program Dates:

• Monday, May 19 – Friday, August 15

• Monday, June 2 – Friday, August 29

How you’ll contribute

The Advanced Intern – Biostatistics will support lead statisticians for development of statistical analysis plan and mock-up shells for on-going clinical trials. They will support the programming team for datasets or outputs validations, and will work with medical affairs team to perform post-hoc statistical analyses using archived trials data. Successful candidates will work on the design and analysis of clinical trials and statistical research topics under the supervision of a senior-level statistician. They can have the opportunities to become familiar with the Clinical Data Interchange Standard Consortium data sets (SDTM and ADaM) and the clinical trial designs in a pharmaceutical/drug development setting.

• Assist in developing the statistical analysis plans, including mock up shells

• Perform post-hoc statistical analyses

• Perform clinical programming activities such as edit check rules

• Apply statistical knowledge and programming skills to study design and data analysis in different phases of clinical trials

• Perform all other duties as required

For this role you will need

Minimum Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a PhD program in statistics, biostatistics, or related field

• Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite in the RTP, NC office

• Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite

• Experience using R and SAS

The salary for this position ranges from $32.00 to $32.00 per hour. The salary range is the range United Therapeutics Corporation in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. The Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
