FANNIE MAE Operations Engineer Advisor - API Gateway Services (Hybrid) in Reston, Virginia

Job Description As a valued contributor to our team, you will apply extensive knowledge of principles and advanced techniques to identify operational issues by observing and studying system functioning and performance results, investigate complaints and suggestions, as well as interview process supervisors and operators, and complete troubleshooting procedures.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Operations Engineer Advisor - API Gateway Services (Hybrid) role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Identify and lead the execution of operational priorities by assessing operational objectives and coordinating interrelated teams and systems.

  • Develop operational solutions to address business problems and inform the team's technical direction.

  • Drive success of strategy roll-out within business unit by by studying, evaluating, and recommending process redesign, as well as drive efficient implementation efforts.

  • Apply extensive knowledge of principles and advanced techniques to inform unit design and modification teams and support thought leadership development.

Qualifications THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences

  • 6 years of experience in software development

  • 4+ years experience of API Development

  • 4+ years of experience in AWS Engineering

  • 4+ years of advising on Cloud strategy and modernization efforts

  • 4 years of experience leading and mentoring junior engineers

  • Experience engaging with technical, business, and executive stakeholders

  • Experience managing incident response and maintenance processes

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent

  • AWS Certifications

  • Prior financial services experiences

Tools

  • Java, Python, JavaScript

  • Apigee

  • REST, SOAP, GraphpQL

  • AWS Services
