We’re searching for our next Senior Communications Specialist who can take charge and spearhead our communications efforts with our federal clients, including technology, health, and other key accounts.

You’ll make a real impact working directly with our clients to address and solve their key issues, drive change, and grow our business. As our next Senior Communications Specialist, you’ll lead work with our federal clients to plan, develop, and implement innovative strategies and programs to help them achieve their mission. You are passionate and knowledgeable about pressing issues, engaging with key partners, and honing messages that are spot on.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as strategic communications representative and provides direction and leadership in the initiation, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing of contractor services to support the implementation of the communications services for the agency.

  • Oversees the development and optimization of communications processes and infrastructure, ensuring seamless communication both internally and externally.

  • Leads the communications team responsible for providing communications assistance to staff and stakeholders, implementing and maintaining communications processes to ensure efficient and effective message delivery.

  • Builds partnerships with clients to gain buy-in on initiatives and visibility of efforts.

  • Develop and drive the successful implementation of a communications strategy that ties back to overarching goals and objectives, including increasing employee engagement and bringing visibility to the client’s priorities.

  • Provides strategic thinking, defining functional and technical intent on creating and delivering communication services of the best quality. Aligns communications services to meet cost-effective business needs.

  • Evaluates new concepts and technology affecting the accumulation and dissemination of information to solve employee communication and information management needs.

  • Acts as a point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to communications services and materials.

  • Provides management oversight to ensure communications work aligns with the goals and vision of clients, providing advice and instruction to successfully implement initiatives.

  • Maintains a highly productive team by ensuring the work is prioritized effectively, resources are managed efficiently, and Specialists receive clear strategic direction.

  • Maintains that employees can contribute to the organization in a meaningful way by coaching and mentoring team members to improve their technical and soft skills, allowing individuals to grow and be more effective with their work.

  • Promotes a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration by organizing knowledge bases, contributing regularly, and encouraging team members to contribute. Creates a culture that allows for candid information sharing, input, and feedback to receive and evaluate ideas effectively.

  • Write communications that enable stakeholders and end users to understand and use new technologies, tools, and platforms, with the goal of improving customer experience, increasing engagement, and technology adoption.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, technologists, and others to develop communications materials, such as email campaigns, blogs, knowledge articles, executive-level briefings, presentations, standard operating procedures, and other documentation as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or related field

  • 7+ years of marketing/communications experience

  • 3+ years of internal communications or technology communications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust per contract requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required (required by federal government for the position)

  • Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail

  • Flexibility to adapt to frequent changes and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

  • Appreciation for the role IT plays in meeting business objectives

  • Proficient in Windows PC environment, including Microsoft Office 365 applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting enterprise-level IT programs and communications

  • Strong writer and editor

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage myriad communications channels

  • Familiarity with Federal Plain Language Guidelines

  • Familiarity with writing for Section 508 requirements

  • PMP certification a plus!

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$84,533.00 - $143,706.00
