Chart Industries Cost Model Engineer in Rheden, Netherlands

The Big Picture:

Howden Reciprocating and Centrifugal compressors (HCR), is a specialist supplier of tailor-made gas compression equipment for customers in the renewable, industrial and PCOG markets. Our products have made a valuable difference for our customers for the past 100 years, and we are now looking for a Cost Model Engineer who will join our Product Management & Support Team and supports us in making a valuable difference in the century to come.

The Cost Model Engineer will own the product cost models in the organization, and as such will be in charge of maintaining, improving and automatizing them. This is a unique opportunity to work with a highly motivated team to capture the growth opportunities in the renewable hydrogen market and to have a role in structuring and influencing the acceleration of transition from Engineered to Order solutions to Configured to Order and/or stand solutions.

What needs to be done?

  • Defines the cost models for the products and solutions in HCR, for pre contract award calculations;

  • Maintains and optimizes the cost models;

  • Ensures harmonization of cost models for each single solution or product across Chart entities, including support and training to Chart entities;

  • Improve pre-calculation processes by automatizing pre-calculation tools that have been created with different systems and processes. Designing or adapting the models so they can evolve with the product offering of the company and are meeting the critical requirements. The Cost Model Engineer is not responsible for the cost data used in the model;

  • Analyzing the requirements and demands to determine the critical ones.

What do you need to bring?

  • A Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain or Engineering;

  • 1 to 3 years in a function of cost engineering or related cost engineering;

  • Experience with a technical project business in a global company;

  • Fluency in English.

  • Experience in Excel, ERP’s and Cost Models;

  • Pro-active and self starter;

  • Basic understanding of financial aspects in product / service costs (direct/indirect costs, overheads and margins);

  • Ability to distinguish between critical and non-critical requirements;

  • Good communication skills verbal and written (ability to speak to groups).
