Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries is seeking an Analog/Power IC Design Engineer to design reference circuits for Power and Precision Analog applications for IVR, Analog Frontends and PMICs, including blocks such as Charge Pump, Gate Driver, Voltage Regulator, Power Switches, Half Bridge, DC/DC converters, Precision voltage references, etc. These wil be implemented in leading edge IC technologies such as BCD, FinFet, FDX and GaN. This effort involves identifying, designing, and demonstrating circuit and system architectures synergistic with GlobalFoundries Power/Analog process technology and emerging Analog applications requirements. You will design product-relevant demonstration hardware achieving industry-leading performance that meets or surpasses competitive technology. You will design them while utilizing early release and production ready Process Design Kits (PDKs), technology and tool enablement. You will also present your results to strategic foundry customers thereby accelerating their time-to-market on GlobalFoundries silicon.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
Develop state-of-the art Foundry Reference Designs for applications such as IVR, Battery Chargers, Display Drivers, ROIC, etc., which will form the basis for Analog/Power circuit, block and subsystem level designs for emerging analog and power applications.
Design, implement and tape-out relevant Foundry Reference Design prototypes on internal test chips and MPWs that will highlight the unique features and capabilities of GlobalFoundries technologies such as BCD, FDX, FinFET and GaN.
Perform physical design of critical elements of circuitry, and/or work with physical design engineers to complete the physical design.
Perform/direct electrical verification and modifications to meet specifications.
Characterize initial silicon and/or work with test engineers to demonstrate achievement of critical performance requirements.
Analyze characterization data and document results for sharing.
Collaborate with innovators at research institutions and universities to push the performance envelope in related fields and future applications of the GF differentiated technology.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Travel - Up to 10%
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited degree program .
Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.
Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
Design experience of Analog/Power circuits using BCD/FinFet/GaN IC design technologies.
Prior experience with one or more CAD tools and frameworks such as Keysight and Cadence.
Prior experience with one or more electromigration simulation tools such as Voltus etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior related internship or co-op experience.
Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong planning & organizational skills.

Expected Salary Range
$63,500.00 - $142,000.00
