Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated IT Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance services to our teammates. As an IT Field Service Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • On-Site Technical Support:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software components, including servers, workstations, printers, and networking equipment.

  • Respond to service requests promptly and professionally, either remotely or by visiting client sites.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner

  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

  • Analyze technical problems and implement effective solutions, collaborating with teammates and team members as needed.

  • Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and rectify complex IT issues.

  • Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.

  • Preventive Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, patches, and security audits.

  • Conduct system health checks to proactively identify and address potential problems.

  • Implement best practices to ensure the stability and reliability of client systems.

  • Client Communication:

  • Communicate with teammates in a clear and professional manner to understand their IT needs and concerns.

  • Provide guidance and advice on IT best practices, upgrades, and technology trends.

  • Keep teammates informed about the progress of ongoing technical support tasks.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including configurations, repairs, and installations.

  • Generate detailed reports outlining work performed, resolutions provided, and any follow-up actions required.

  • Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other IT professionals, including help desk technicians, network administrators, and project managers, to deliver comprehensive solutions.

  • Share knowledge and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's technical expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience as an IT Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical support role.

  • Solid understanding of hardware, software, and networking technologies.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting a wide range of IT issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.

  • Familiarity with various operating systems Windows, macOS, and software applications.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical teammates.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach to service delivery.

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to sites as required.

  • Relevant certifications e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Cisco CCNA are a plus.
