This is a career-track position with a primary focus on teaching a structure related courses for undergraduate and graduate students. Career-track assistant professors are expected to engage in research and service activities in addition to their teaching responsibilities, with these duties aligned with the scope of their appointment. This includes conducting research in their field, contributing to academic publications, collaborating on projects, and participating in departmental and university service roles, such as committee membership, student mentorship, and community engagement initiatives. The candidate is also expected to participate broadly in the growth and continuous improvement of the school's ABET-accredited BSCE degree program. Applications are encouraged from recent Ph.D. graduates, as well as doctoral students scheduled to graduate by August 2025, who have a strong enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and dynamic learning environment. Ideal candidates will demonstrate potential for high-quality research, excellence in teaching, and a willingness to contribute meaningfully to the academic community. ENVIRONMENT The new faculty member will join the https://tricities.wsu.edu/engineering/, an integral unit within the university's https://vcea.wsu.edu/. Among WSU's newest academic units, SEAS offers degree programs in computer science, cybersecurity, and civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering at the Baccalaureate, Master's, and Doctoral levels, and encourages interdisciplinary initiatives. All undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET. The School currently has 344 students and expects continued enrollment increases. SEAS produces profession-ready graduates by combining excellence in classroom coursework with project-based experiential learning in the form of laboratory experiences, industry-sponsored projects, paid internships and co-ops, and participation in research with their professors.
