  • Job #7766 Overview: ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Engineer Principal position will perform highly complex engineering analyses and designs, provide technical leadership and training, and develop innovative solutions for specialized assignments. Additionally, this Engineer responsibilities include mentoring, ensuring regulatory compliance, and initiating corrective actions for design and operational issues. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA. Pay rate: $60.52 - $82.75 Benefits:

  • Perform highly complex engineering analyses and designs to support operations, systems, programs, audit inspections, and assessments.
  • Apply engineering methods, analysis, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as an advisor providing expert advice and counsel on specialized or unique engineering requirements.
  • Develop solutions using unconventional or innovative problem-solving techniques.
  • Provide technical leadership and training on highly complex or extended projects.
  • Lead small groups to resolve complex issues using advanced problem-solving techniques.
  • Apply advanced practices and methodologies in engineering tasks.
  • Utilize advanced technological skills to solve problems where existing guidance does not fit.
  • Provide technical direction and leadership to other engineers.
  • Serve as a mentor and provide training to others.
  • Identify the need for and initiate the development of new policies, programs, plans, and procedures to meet strategic objectives.
  • Assure compliance with regulatory and industry guidance.
  • Provide interpretation of industry guidance for application.
  • Identify potential problems in design, quality, or operation.
  • Initiate corrective actions in accordance with the plant Condition Report (CR) process.
  • Act as Responsible Engineer over engineering changes prepared by self and those performed by other architectural engineers in the Design Engineering Department. Requirements:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and eight years of engineering experience, plus one diverse assignment;
  • OR a high school diploma or GED and PE license obtained by accredited examination plus eight years of engineering experience and one diverse assignment.
  • Requires knowledge of discipline engineering principles, practices, and theories, and methods to identify and solve the highest complex problems and perform sophisticated analyses.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of related disciplines is required.
  • SRO (Senior Reactor Operator) or Plant Certification is desirable.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Digital Design, Electrical Instrumentation & Control (I&C), and Digital Control Systems.
  • Experience in Nuclear design processes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Standard Design Process and Digital Design Process is desired.
  • Effective communication skills are required to relate to both highly analytical and nonscientific backgrounds.
  • Ability to provide strong technical guidance, leadership, and technical training to other technical employees.
