BHE GT&S, LLC, is seeking an experienced corporate and transactional attorney to provide legal support for a variety of corporate related matters including support for its supply chain, corporate secretary, and commercial transactions group.
This is a full-time office position located at the BHE GT&S corporate headquarters in Richmond, Virginia, and is not offered as a remote or work-from-home position although flexible work hours are permitted including 4x10 work week schedules and work schedules that permit every other Friday off.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Counsel position provides legal advice to BHE GT&S and its subsidiaries. Typical responsibilities include:
Drafts, reviews and negotiates routine legal documents such as contracts, purchase order terms and conditions, service agreements and other types of documents with legal implications.
Works with more senior attorneys to advise clients on more complex legal matters and participates in the preparation of strategies to support the respective companies’ business plans.
Along with more senior attorneys, provides clients with legal and risk analyses, and recommended course of action.
Assists with the preparation of board meeting minutes, resolutions, and other corporate governance documentation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The Counsel level is typically demonstrated by 2 or more years of related experience. The preferred candidate will possess the following strengths:
Clear analyst, advocate, and presenter of legal points
Independent judgment and initiative
Ability to work directly with clients
Preferred Experience, Skills & Abilities
Direct experience in the energy industry
Background and experience in corporate transactions, including joint ventures and drafting governance documents
Experience providing counsel in general contract matters as well as construction and engineering contracts
Education Level: Required: Juris Doctor , Disciplines: Required: Law
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
State law license required.
