Aerotek PLC Tech Lead in Richmond, Virginia

Description:

As a leader in our industry, we are looking to elevate our team with a PLC tech lead who is adept in both the technical and leadership aspects of automation control systems, particularly within conveyance. If you possess a high level of expertise in PLCs, SCADA systems, and ladder logic, along with a proven track record of leading teams to success, we have the perfect role for you. Your role will be crucial in implementing designs and ensuring the optimal performance of our automated conveyance systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of controls technicians in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of PLC and SCADA systems.

  • Program, modify, and edit ladder logic to optimize conveyance system operations.

  • Understand and apply SCADA software to improve system monitoring and data acquisition.

  • Work closely with engineers to implement their designs and ensure successful deployment of control systems.

  • Oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.

  • Lead the development and implementation of new installations as well as upgrades to existing systems.

  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting for complex automation issues.

  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of system modifications and updates.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the controls department.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3+ years of leadership experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of PLC modifying and editing.

  • Proficiency with SCADA software and applications in an industrial setting.

  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics and ability to lead fault-finding procedures.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and executing projects related to conveyance and control systems.

  • Excellent communication and team management skills.

  • A degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field; relevant certifications are highly advantageous.

  • Commitment to upholding the highest safety and quality standards.
