About the Opportunity
Our National IT Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO) Cyber Analytics and Compliance Reporting team has an immediate opening for a Senior IS Analyst to report to the Senior Manager – Cyber Analytics and Compliance Reporting and provide research and analysis of various security data to provide proactive insights for informed risk decision making.
As the Senior Analyst, you will implement cyber data analytics solutions using various analytics and visualization tools while collaborating with SMEs across the FRS, and provide guidance in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective processes and procedures that meet requirements and IS standards, and follow IS policy and/or IS risk compliance regulations. You will use your security knowledge to support the team in analyzing security data and assessing cyber risk data to proactively generate valuable insights that provide a comprehensive view of the FRS’ security and risk posture. You may provide consultation to clients, colleagues, and management to determine best practices and provide recommendations to improve current practices.
What You Will Do: * Create data-based analytical products for various business audiences. * Perform complex analysis of business issues using established methodologies and tools within information security. * Support the team in developing cyber security use case requirements, perform large-scale data analysis, and develop effective solutions to improve the FRS’ security posture. * Work with the clients and other resources to assess current capabilities, identify customer needs and recommend business process improvements within information security areas. * Provide support and collaboration in completing analysis, providing ad-hoc reports, information or process mapping, and/or alignment of the business and related resources. * Participate in process improvement and solution discussions and present outcomes to senior management. * Develop and design new business processes and update existing business processes within information security areas. * Participate in cross-functional team initiatives and process improvement projects within information security areas.
Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience * 5 years of relevant data analysis and information security experience. * Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development. * Experience using analytical tools to query databases, manipulate data, and draw insights from large data sets. * Significant knowledge of distributed data/computing tools and presentation platforms/technologies including Hadoop, Hive, Spark, SQL, Tableau, R, and/or PowerBI. * Skill in Python programing to support data manipulation and presentation. * Knowledge of information security principles and control frameworks. * Enthusiasm for learning and building new skills and knowledge. * Ability to tailor communications to their appropriate audience and present information in a credible, confident, and influential manner. Communicates in a concise, direct, and purposeful way.

* The Richmond, VA hiring range for the Senior IS Analyst is $91,700 - $114,600 annually.
