+ Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; previous medical experience or CNA/GNA preferred.
- Must pass initial and ongoing trainings.
- Must have attention to detail; good organizational skills; ability to follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.
- Must have computer skills and knowledge of office and medical software.
- Must have Med Tech certification (or eligibilityfor Med Tech certification).
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
- Must have current and valid driver's license in good standing and must have a driving record that would permit coverage under Benedictine driver's insurance.
+ Key Responsibilities
- Keep all individuals charts/files organized and up-to-date, including immunization information, nursing assessments, insurance cards/information, medical appointment consultationforms, etc.
- Process all medical documentation handled by the Nursing Department to ensure that each document is recorded, filed and sent to residential home for the individual's medical binder.
- Handle administrative duties such as answering phones and assist appointment runner as needed scheduling appointments/vaccinations.
- Prepare and manage the physician medication order forms, sending them to the appropriate physicianfor renewal as well as tracking the responses. Also ensure timely placement in group home.
- Assist with monthly cycle meds including review of paper medication administration record (MAR), review blister backs, and distribution to the group homes prior to the first of the next month; monitor the return of the MAR/lister packs to the nursing staff for review and correction.
- Manage individual's insurance and insurance forms acting as a liaison between the individual/parent (guardian) and the insurance agency.
- Assist with taking individualsto their medical appointments, and transport individuals for labs/testing.
- Order medications and pickup from pharmacy as needed.
